DCMH is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide food and housing to individuals in need. For our hackathon project, our team collaborated on redesigning and improving the user experience of DCMH's current website. Overall, this project was a very collaborative process with a quick turnaround time – only 24 hours to complete.
Why the redesign?
In short, DCMH's website had too many navigation links and most of the information was outdated. So, users seeking help had trouble navigating the site or contacting the program.
We heard from speaking with Tracy, the executive director of DCMH, that they often receive many emails from visitors asking for clarification of the services and support they offer.
We heard from Tracy that the organization wanted to primarily focus on the housing aspect of DCMH. She also highlighted the nonprofit’s values such as compassion, kindness, and a safe space for the davis community. During the iteration process, I incorporated these values into the logo design.

I simplified the brand colors by only using two primary and two secondary colors. These colors evoke feelings of trust, kindness and professionalism.
